CleveMed SleepView

Valley Sleep Center is moving to a new primary home sleep apnea testing device called the CleveMed SleepView. This device is small, easy to use, and is conveniently mailed to you with return labels to limit your back-and-forth travel to the sleep clinic.

SleepView is a small and light weight home sleep testing monitor meeting AASM recommended guidelines. The 8 – channel SleepView is ergonomically designed for patients to perform an easy home sleep test.  This device uses sensors similar to the in-lab test but is limited to testing for Sleep Apnea.

Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea are at a significantly higher risk for developing hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and sudden death. Home sleep testing allows patients to be tested with ease in their own homes. Home Sleep Apnea devices such as these do have limitations compared to in lab testing, not all patients may qualify

Patients will need a consultation by a Sleep Specialist to have an order for Home Sleep Apnea Testing.  Not all patients will qualify for home testing as certain medical conditions or sleep disorders will require full in-facility testing.  Insurance and Cash pay options are available for all testing, ask your scheduler.

Zoll-Itamar WatchPAT ONE

Valley Sleep Center maintains limited quantities of the WatchPAT ONE for patient's needing a disposable device for in home testing.  Not all insurances will cover the code for this limited channel home sleep apnea testing device.  This device also requires the use of a mobile phone with good service during the entire study duration.  WatchPAT ONE uses a finger probe and an additional sensor on your sternum to monitor your sleep.  For details on this device visit: https://www.itamar-medical.com/patients/

This is not the first line device in most cases due to the insurance billing codes, limitations on the channels monitored, and the requirement for the patient to have a cell phone plugged in and on during entire study.  For those meeting requirements for this device and who have a sleep provider willing to utilize the data provided, this is a great alternative.   This device can be picked up in office or mailed, it is disposable after one use.
